Palo Santo is actually harvested from fallen Deadwood of the Bursera Graveolens tree, which is found in South America. The tree is not cut down, and only the dead branches and twigs that have naturally fallen to the ground are collected. Additionally, the harvesting of fallen deadwood helps to prevent forest fires, which are common in the region.
